​IS-MPMI has negotiated discounted hotel rates for the 19th Congress attendees. You must make your hotel reservation through Orchid Events. Hotel reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served, space-available basis. Submit your request as soon as possible for the best opportunity of receiving your hotel choice.​​

​​Dead​line

All reservations must be made by June 19​​, 2023​, to guarantee availability and conference rates.  After this date, reservations will be made based on availability and hotels may charge higher rates.​​

Did You Know?

​Booking a room at the contracted hotels under the official IS-MPMI room block benefits you and supports IS-MPMI​. When you "book within the block," you help our organization secure future meeting sites, enable us to provide so​me important features that participants have come to enjoy, and help keep the meeting registration fees lower. Please book responsibly.​

​Deposit​

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee for deposit of one night's room and tax for each room reserved. Your credit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED during this initial stage and will be held as a GUARANTEE only.​

Acknowledgments

​Orchid Events will send reservation acknowledgments within 24 hours via email if booked online or by telephone. If you do not receive your acknowledgment in this time frame, contact Orchid Events. You will not receive a written confirmation from the hotel. 


Cancellations & Changes

W​hen booking your hotel accommodations, you must provide a valid credit card number to guarantee payment. Any reservation cancelled within 72 hours of arrival date will be charged one night's room and tax. Please refer to your reservation acknowledgment for your individual hotel cancellation policy.  Through June 22​​​, 2023, changes and cancellations can be made online or by contacting Orchid Events via email at help@orchid.events. After June 22, contact your hotel to make changes and/or cancellations.

​Hotel Suites

If you are interested in booking a hotel suite, please email help@orchid.events. There are a limited number available at a discounted rate for attendees.​​​

Hotel Scam Warning

IS-MPMI is ​aware of companies besides Orchid Events pretending to be the “official” IS-MPMI housing company, offering special non-refundable rates, and requesting credit card information. There is NO company that is authorized to solicit directly by telephone for hotel bookings or special discounts. We encourage attendees to book directly with our contracted housing provider via the reservation link on the hotel travel page or by telephone.​​​​


Health & Safety

IS-MPMI is working with the venue to promote a healthy, safe, and enjoyable experience for all attendees, exhibitors, and staff. To promote the health and safety of all participants, IS-MPMI encourages attendees to get a flu shot and get up to date​​ with the COVID-19 vaccine/boosters prior to the meeting. IS-MPMI also:

  • ​Encourages attendees to respect individual decisions about masking.
  • Encourages registrants to stay home if you feel ill or have been in close contact with someone who is ill.
  • Will enable attendees to indicate their personal interaction preferences during the meeting.
  • Will have masks for attendees who request one.
  • Will work with the venue to promote ventilation and host social events outdoors when possible.
  • Will take steps to ensure that the hotel follows cleaning and disinfection standards and makes hand sanitizer readily available.
  • Will monitor CDC guidance and the recommendations and requirements of the host state, county, and city to adjust these protocols as needed.

Attendees From Outside the United States

​​​​If you need to apply for a temporary non-immigrant visa to attend 2023 IS-MPMI Congress, you are advised to apply for your visa as soon as possible and no later than 3-4 months in advance. You will receive an invitation letter after your registration is complete, which may be submitted with your visa application to verify the name, dates, location, and purpose of 2023 IS-MPMI Congress. All applicants must be able to qualify for a visa on their own merits. IS-MPMI cannot intervene with ​embassies in other countries on behalf of any meeting participants.​ Please visit the U.S. Visa website for official, up-to-date information. 

The U.S. Department of State encourages you to apply for your visa as soon as possible. Some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews, so applicants should contact the consulate directly ​to determine wait times or visit ​the U.S. Visa website

Attendees who register for the meeting and apply for a visa to travel to the U.S. by May 22 will be eligible for a refund if the visa is not granted prior to the meeting and proper documentation is provided.  Cancellations may be subject to a $100 processing fee.If you have additional questions, please contact ISMPMICongress@scisoc.org​.
